Neeraj Chopra begins season with 84.52m throw in South Africa

Neeraj Chopra, who won the Olympic medal, started his season by winning the Pot Invitational track event in Potchfstrom, South Africa.

In the World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event on Wednesday, Chopra threw the spare at a distance of 84.52m.

The Indian star ended beyond the 25 -year -old South African Doo Summit, with the best throw 82.44M but Chopra’s attempt was below 89.94M, while Dowu came close to 83.29m his personal best.

There were only two athletes Chopra and Summit, who crossed the 80 -meter mark in the competition.

Another South African Duncan Robertson took third position with an attempt of 71.22 million.

Chopra is training in Pot Festroom under his new Czech Czech coach John Zelzani, who is the Olympic champion and a world record holder three times.

The 27 -year -old separated with German coach Klos Bartonitz last year last year.

Chopra is about to launch its elite campaign in the Doha Diamond League on May 16.

He won the back -to -back Olympics medals in 2020 Tokyo (gold) and 2024 Paris Games (Silver). His personal best was achieved in 89.94m 2022 and is trying to violate the 90 meter mark for a long time.
