Five new players got their first senior national call ups as Hockey India announced a 26 -member women’s team for the next five matches in Australia, which is scheduled to be from April 26 to May 4.
India will face Australian A in the first two games, followed by three matches against the Australian senior team. The five matches will be played at the Perth Hockey Stadium.
The tour will be an important preparation assignment before the European leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25 team, held in June.
Five players-Jyoti Singh, Sujata Kojur, Ajmina Kojur, Pooja Yadav and Maheema Tate have received a call from the senior team. They will want to step into their senior team.
The squad, which is a mixture of experienced and fresh players, will be led by the dynamic midfielder Salima Tate, in which the experienced forward Niet Corps is serving as its deputy.
Veteran goalkeeper Savita and young Talent Bis the Devi Devi will share responsibilities between the Kerald positions, which will provide a strong line of defense.
The defense line -up features a mixture of experience and promising young skills, including Jyoti Singh, Eshika Chowdhury, Sushila Chino Pacharambam, Suja Kojur, Soman Devi Thadam, Jyoti, Ajmina Kojur, and Sakshi Rana.
In Midfield, Captain Tate will martial the center that will support Vishnavi Vietnam, Neha, Sharmila Devi, Manisha Chauhan, Sanletta Tupu, Maheema Tate, Pooja Yadav, and Lalimisami, which has its depth and creativity.
The forward line looks sharp and attacks with Nunit Corps, Deepika, Rutaja Dadaso Pul, Mumtaz Khan, Belgian Kaur, Deepika Sorning, and Beauty Dinging.
In addition, with DPI Monica Topo and Sonam (Forwards), along with Bansari Solanki (goalkeeper), Anjana Dandong and Laluttoting (protector), Sakshi Shukla and Khadim Shelema Chino (midfielders), DPI Monica Tapo and Sonam (Forwards).
Reflecting the team’s selection, Chief Coach Harinder Singh said, “This visit is an important opportunity for us to test its capabilities and strategies against a high level competition. We have chosen a balanced squad in which the experience has been added with fresh energy.
“It is great to see how young players have achieved their places through constant performances in national level tournaments and senior camps. It would be surprising to see how they adopt the challenge internationally and get into the challenge.
Singh said the team is in good shape, mentally and physically, after a solid block of training at the national camp in Bangalore.
“Playing against the Australian A and Hockeyers will help us improve our game before the European leg of the FIH Pro League.
“We are in the process of strengthening key sectors, such as fitness, decision -making, and the formation of a flexible mentality that allows us to be composed and competitive in high pressure conditions. Our goal is to maintain the spirit of fighting recently in the Pro League.”
