S. Basketball player and former Indian team captain Hari Dutt Kapri has died here at his residence. He was 83 years old and took his last breath on Wednesday. His wife and two sons have survived after Kapri.

On Thursday, his mortal remains were forced to flame in Rameshwar Ghat.

He was awarded the Arjun Award in 1969. Kapri was born in 1942 in Cheri Khan village of Mouwani area of ​​Paturagar district.

It was his responsibility that the Indian basketball team came from seventh to fourth position in Asia in 1969.

The Indian basketball team recorded a series of consecutive victories under its captaincy from 1965 to 1978.

The Uttarakhand government also awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award.
