The International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) announced on Wednesday that the World Cup in London is not a “authorized” event and asked the Indian Apex Body to work against the team that went to the tournament. The Cabbi World Cup 2025 is being held in western Midlands from March 17 to 23. The tournament is hosted by the England Kabaddi Association and the British Kabaddi League (BKL), which is a parallel international governing body of the game under the World Cabbi Federation.
“The so -called Kabaddi World Cup 2025 in the UK was organized under the so -called World Kabaddi Federation, it has not been given the option by the International Kabaddi Federation, which is recognized by a State of Asia (OCA), it is an international governing body for Kabdi’s game.
“OCA, IKF, and the Asian Kabaddi Federation (AKF) also monitor and monitor the Kabaddi medal competition for men and women in Asian Games since 1990, and other international kabaddi tournaments.” A similar incident happened in 2020 when an ‘Indian team’ visited Pakistan to take part in the Cabbi World Cup even as the Bean Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) and the Ministry of Sports said that they had not cleared any team for the tournament.
Interestingly, the AKFI was suspended by the IKF in 2024 as the Indian Federation has not been elected institution since 2018. A court -appointed administrator, (Rated), Justice SP Garg, has been overseeing the organization for more than five years.
Recently, the Supreme Court had asked Garg to hand over the AKFI administration to an elected body. The IKF is headed by Vinod Kumar Tiwari of India, who was elected in 2022 for a four -year period.
The IKF said that the Indian team, which was going to the Kabdi World Cup in the UK, was not sent by the sports agency Akifi.
“The so -called World Kabaddi Federation of OCA, IKF, AKF, and the amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) has no case or engagement with the World Kabaddi Federation or any of its activities.
“The IKF has told Akifi that the so -called Kabaddi World Cup in the UK has no restrictions or identity by the so -called Indian team, which is a formally recognized detention organization in India.
“The IKF will further request that it use its mandate with the Indian team considered to be considered at the so -called Kabaddi World Cup in the UK, which includes participation in the Cabdi competition and its detained programs in India.” The International Organization also said that “no National Kabaddi Federation, which participates in the Kabaddi Medal Dispersion in the Asian Games, is not participating in the event (Kabaddi World Cup in London).
“Teams representing such countries in the so -called Kabaddi World Cup in the UK are allegedly representing the MIS (MIS) teams for Kabaddi.”
