The National Federation announced on Tuesday that double Olympic medalists PV Sindhu and World No. 18 Lakshi Sen will head the Indian Challenge in the final of the Soderman Cup in China from April 27 to May 4. India, who qualified for the combined global ranking -based mixed team championship, has been included in a challenging group D with former champion Indonesia, two -time runner -up Denmark, and a strong English dress. After the injury, the 14 -member Indian contingent will see the return of the doubles duo of the Men’s doubles pair of SatyoSiraj Rankiyaridi and Cherag Shetty, while the country’s advanced women’s doubles duo will lose the incident due to cases related to Jotri Gopchand and Teresa Jolie.
In his absence, Priya Kanjingbum and Shruti Mishra’s young combinations will accept responsibility in the women’s doubles event, while the young duo of Haryarin Amsakaron and Robin Kumar Ritenasbapati have been named backup for stuccan and cherog in men’s doubles.
“Choosers have chosen the best possible combination in five types despite some injury problems,” said Sanjay Mishra, general secretary of the Badminton Association of India (BAI).
He added, “We no longer rely on one or two articles to win the tie, and it makes us a great force in any team event. We believe that the team will not only make its identity in the group’s stages but also make history by winning the medal.”
Apart from Sen, the men’s singles lineup also includes HS Pranaye, while former national champion in Sindh and World No. 45 Anupama will join the women’s singles.
Sindhu, who was recovering from a hamstring injury in February, conducted a precious practice of the match at the Badminton Asia Championship last week.
In the mixed doubles, Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Christo, who reached the quarter -finals at the Asia Championship, will lead the challenge.
