Ticket prices were low in the WTA week, which will not yet be able to raise anything like income for the long -term men.
More than 66,000 tickets were sold for the women’s tournament when the last three days were completely sold. The LTA says it is just one of the most attendance for the Stand WTA event, behind the opening of Charleston and Canada.
“Both tournaments have different personalities in the tournament and we want to make sure that the women’s program has its own identity,” Robson told BBC5 Live.
“With the sale of tickets, we have seen that 55 % of tickets have been sold to women this week. This is not the case next week.
“We have seen a small, more diverse audience in the crowd, and this is something we hope to develop in the next years. It feels like the beginning of something special.”
Attracting the biggest players is an ongoing challenge. With the straightforward Queen of the French Open, only three top 10 players finally competed, with World No. three Jessica Pigola returning late.
This week the total fund was 1.043M (4 1.415m), compared to £ 2.122m (2.522m euros) for men. The LTA has promised to introduce the equivalent prize money after 2029.
As far as the courts are concerned, they show signs of clothing and tears after a week of action, but it can be expected. Tennis representative Russell Filler compared them “three or four” in Wimbledon.
“I can’t really believe how well they have maintained,” Robson said. “It still looks ancient.
“The ground staff has done incredible work and put it in some serious hours.
“So far, there is no complaint from ATP players on the site, and it continues for a long time.”
Dan Evans, the UK, arrived at the site when the tournament was underway, he said, before the men’s event was creating a better resonance around the venue.
Finally, the women players were highlighted with a women’s stand event when the British people began to draw their attention to Wimbledon.
Bolter added, “I think it’s a really good opportunity for women’s tennis.
“It was a massive schedule and was probably a serious danger, because we are quite ready in our own way.
“I think it’s in a place where it should be – and it’s moving more and more wherever it can.”
