The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently announced a cash prize of the INR 58 crore for the Squad winning the Champions Trophy. Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar asked if Gautam Gambhir would follow his predecessor, Rahul Dravid, refusing to take more money from other members of the support staff.
It is important to mention that former head coach Rahul Dravid refused to take extra INR 2.5 million that the Indian Cricket Board defeated South Africa in the final in Barbados and defeated South Africa after winning Rohit Sharma and T20 World Cup 2024. Rahul Dravid chose to take equal share of the award bonus as his remaining support staff. Last year, after India broke the ICC title, the BCCI had awarded the entire emergency INR 125 crore to 125 crore.
Sunil Gauskar has now asked whether the current India head coach, Gautam Gambhir, will follow in the footsteps of Dravid. He also increased the silence of Gautam Gambhir, as the inaugural batsman of the former India has not yet reacted to the award amount through the BCCI.

“After the ICT T20 World Cup win and the announcement of the board award mini, the then coach Rahul Dravid, who is ever a team man, refused to accept more than his coaching staff’s fellow members, and in fact, he shared his call with his colleagues,” Goskar.
“It’s been fifteen days since the BCCI announced the Champions Trophy prizes, but we have not heard from the current coach whether they too will be drained or not. Or is it that Dravid, in this example, is not a good role model?” He added.

Gavoskar supported the Indian Cricket Board for beneficial players who won the Champions Trophy of eight teams. Earlier, Rohit Sharma and his team defeated New Zealand in the final and won the Champions Trophy for the third time. India was unbeaten throughout the tournament.
