The India Ultimet recently hosted the National Open and the Women’s Championship 2025 for Freesby in Bangalore. The program was seen in 39 teams from 10 cities, of which more than 700 athletes participated in the open, women and challenging open divisions.
Mainly played on grass or sand, both globally and in India, this action takes place on a part of the earth, which has the length and expansion of the football field. There are two rectangular spaces, closing zones and scoring areas on both ends of the field.
India’s CEO Alex Sebastian, located in Bangalore, highlighted the technical capabilities of the game. “You need to pass a disk between your fellow fellow and get it in the closing zone to score it. It is like a very American football that plays with basketball and football mixes.”
The game also allows the entire team to substitute with a fresh set of players.
Although the grass and beach rules (as played on the sand) are the same, there are some differences. A team for the grass needs seven players, while five players are comprised of the beach team. Similarly, the beach game lasts for 45 minutes, with winners scoring 13 points, while the grass has a 100 -minute period of games, which requires 15 points to win.

Finally, each player is also a referee. Alex says, “If there is a dirt or something that needs referee intervention, the players discuss it and what to do. They have 30 seconds to solve it. This is an exercise that gives players a lot of life skills.”
At the end of a match, the two teams simultaneously sit in the “circle of soul” and if there are anyone to discuss the problems or solve the problems. Each team also ranks the other on five different parameters such as communication, positive mentality and self -control, also known as the “Spirits Score”.
At the end of a tournament, the Spirit of Game or SOTG Award is given to a team on the basis of which they were given by their opponents.

Late start and challenges
The India Ultimat was established in 2012 as a Flying Disc Sports Federation for India. It is a volunteer and player -powered organization, which is either active or retired by players. There are about 80 80 clubs across the country with players aged 14 to 36.
“We are at a newborn stage compared to many other countries that had already picked up the game,” says Alex. We are now trying to make a base with a five -year plan. Hopefully we will qualify for the 2029 World Games and prepare for the 2032 Sydney Olympics.
“Ultimet Fresabie is still relatively unknown in India,” says Kobatore, coach Marlyni Siddhartha.
“We need to start at the grassroots level to raise awareness about the ultimatic-however, it is very important to officially recognize the game by the government, in fact, it will provide sports facilities, funding, and logistics, and logistics, in fact.”
Chennai -based athletes and coach Nandan Ravi Latha agrees, and added, “With the help of the government, the government will help players to train and compete without worrying about financing. This will definitely put them in more competitive minds.”
According to Hina Nanani, the leadership of communication and partnerships in India Ultimat Ahmedabad, it is difficult to get the field to host the championship as public grounds cannot be dedicated to regular practice of the game. Alex added, “In India, it is difficult to play such a place, so we had to host the championship at a distance of 30-35 km outside the city.”

“A dedicated place will help players and state teams to give regular practice and improve their skills,” says Nathan Chogol, a Goa -based coach, says.
Although there is a small sponsorship here, most of the domestic or international tournaments are provided by players self -funded. As a result, many talented players lose their abilities in global programs.
Mixed bag
As a non -contact game, Fresaby allows all genders to participate in it, but while this theory is democratic, the fact is that sometimes it sheds light on what moves in the field.
“Mixed gender games are a unique standard of this game and we have made a long journey to represent an equal gender in the field in the early 6: 1. However, as a community, we have to actively ensure equality-this means deliberately helping women, deliberately and deliberately.
Hina Nanani highlighted the methods of joining India, “In the mixed genre, women players mostly name, while guiding the men. The India Ultimat has changed it to a man and a female captain. As a self -made game, it gives women a chance to speak for themselves.”

Highlighting the struggle in the mixed gender play, Marlyni said that “women involved in the mixed gender face many challenges, such as proving themselves permanently or receiving opinions of different levels than men.”
Marineleni says how teams approach gender equality in the field still need a cultural and social change. “We need to continue these conversations, find men’s young men and build them, deliberately about how we train and play, and ensure that women get opportunities and help to play a role.”
In 2025, men and women’s teams will represent India at the Asian Championship in Japan in September. India will also be represented by a mixed team at the World Beach Championship in Portugal in November this year.
